Guided by the Lighthouse Model, SHINE supports children and young people to grow in confidence, self-awareness, and leadership through strengths-based reflection.

Supported by a Lighthouse KEEPER, young people are invited to pause, reflect on their experiences, and discover the strengths, insights, and goals that shape their journey.

This reflective process leads to a SHINE Leadership Development Plan — a student-owned, strengths-based tool that captures their voice, supports meaningful conversations, and helps guide the next steps in their growth.

Youth

Target Audience: Children and young people

Purpose:
SHINE is our creative, strengths-based leadership approach that invites young people to discover their unique leadership space and step into the driver’s seat as narrators, reflectors and writers of their own story.

Delivery:
1:1 mentoring, whānau conversations, small group sessions, and classroom settings using our Lighthouse reflection resources.

Outcome: Young people develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and leadership through guided reflection and strengths-based discovery.
